Rose-Laying Ceremony and Remembrance Convocation to be Held Friday

This ceremony honors the 270 people, including 35 students studying abroad through Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity, who were killed in the Dec. 21, 1988, bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland. The ceremony also honors 2002-03 Lockerbie Scholar Andrew McClune, who died in 2002.

When Catherine Crossland returned to campus in January 1989 for the second half of her sophomore year at Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity, a friend gave her a newspaper he bought while studying abroad the previous semester. The paper was from South Africa. It had Crossland’s photo on the front page.
