Erin Archer, CFA, has been named 鶹ƵUniversity treasurer. With nearly 20 years of experience, Archer has an impressive track record of significant accomplishments in managing complex treasury and investment responsibilities. Archer’s appointment was approved by the executive committee of the University’s Board of Trustees. She will begin her tenure on Oct. 12 and will report to Amir Rahnamay-Azar, senior vice president for business, finance and administrative Services (BFAS) and chief financial officer.

As , Archer will oversee Cash Management, Debt Management and Student Financial Services. In addition, she will collaborate with key stakeholders on the University’s investments and endowment portfolio, including University administration, the University’s outsourced chief investment officer (Partners Capital), and the investment and endowment committee of the Board of Trustees.

“We are excited to welcome Erin to the Orange community,” says Rahnamay-Azar. “Erin’s diverse portfolio of experiences with global organizations and higher education will serve 鶹ƵUniversity well as we think collaboratively about innovations to the treasury function in support of the University priorities.”

Accountability and responsible stewardship of the University’s finances is a core value of the BFAS division. In addition, the BFAS , introduced in October 2018, set out a commitment to pursue innovation and creativity in our stewardship of the University’s financial resources. Bringing Archer on board allows the division to help position the University for financial growth and further distinction among the world’s finest research institutions.

Archer received her bachelor’s degree at The University of Chicago and her MBA at its Booth School of Business. She attended the Harvard Graduate School of Education and received a certificate from its Institute for Management and Leadership in Education. She is a CFA® charterholder.

Rahnamay-Azar also extended his gratitude to Scott Kemp, who led the Treasurer’s Office on an interim basis during the search. Kemp will return to his previous role as associate treasurer once Archer begins her tenure.
