For the first time, Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad will host a weeklong virtual event for students interested in studying abroad. Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad Week will take place Sept. 14-18 in a completely online setting to ensure all events are accessible to students. Through this virtual week, students will have the opportunity to engage with staff in new and innovative ways, get their study abroad questions answered and learn more about exciting program opportunities. This week will consist of Q&A sessions where students can meet, talk with and learn from program alumni, overseas faculty and directors who lead programs, and experienced staff.
Throughout the week, Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad will host more than 40 zoom sessions that will take place Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET.Ìý Students can join Â鶹ƵµÀCenter specific information sessions for the Florence, London, Madrid, Santiago, Strasbourg Centers and the featured Exploring Central Europe program. These sessions will provide details about studying abroad at each location and discuss housing, curriculum, student life and the field study opportunities.
Students already familiar with Centers can choose to join “Meet the Staff” sessions led by overseas Center directors. Here, students can learn first-hand about the Center, and get questions answered about homestays, student life, center activities, internships and more.
Students will also have the opportunity to speak directly with program alumni, through the Global Ambassador Q&A sessions. These students have recently studied abroad and are excited to share their stories, experiences and answer questions, all from a student perspective.
Summer and short-term sessions will also be available. Learn more about internship opportunities, summer sessions in Florence, Madrid and London, or over 20 faculty-led programs available to students during summer 2021. Five World Partner program providers will also offer presentations every day at 8 p.m. ET. Sessions include UNSW in Sydney, Australia, Tel Aviv University, CEA Barcelona and Prague, University College Dublin, and DIS Stockholm and Copenhagen.
Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad will also host school- and college-specific sessions. Whitman and Maxwell students, along with music studies and engineering students, are encouraged to join school/college-specific sessions to discuss detailed program options available to them.

Last year, over 1,000 students gathered on the quad for the program’s annual Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad Day. The event provided students with the opportunity to speak with Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad staff and representatives from over twelve World Partner programs, providing an open, interactive forum for students to learn more about study abroad programs and offerings. Although this year will be different, the value of study abroad remains clear. Today, study abroad is a necessary component of students’ academic path to help make sense of the changing world and ensure the development of the next generation of global leaders, thinkers and innovators. It is also a great way to meet new friends, explore new perspectives, all while developing skills critical for career success in the global marketplace.Ìý
Students interested in studying abroad next semester can apply now for spring 2021 programs. Â鶹ƵµÀAbroad continues to innovate and proactively rethink programming and operations abroad to adapt to and embrace new global challenges. On campus and overseas, teams are dedicated to helping students make sense of these changes and discover their way to make a positive impact on the world.
