Carrie Mae Weems, an artist in residence at Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity, was featured in The Art Newspaper, Carrie Mae Weems joined Syracuse’s artist in residence program in January, focusing on photography. Weems’ work, called RESIST COVID TAKE 6!, explores and communicates the question “why are American people of color dying of Covid-19 at three times the rate of their fellow white citizens?” During her time at Syracuse, Weems has created works “aimed at spreading healthcare messaging and combating the spread of the virus.”
