Dear Members of the Campus Community:

As a follow up to Chancellor Syverud’s this morning, I write this afternoon to invite you to join your fellow community members in a gathering at Hendricks Chapel.

We will use this gathering as an opportunity for students, faculty and staff to engage in thoughtful, constructive dialogue about our campus community and in particular the troubling and disturbing conduct that has come to light.

Please join us at 2:30 p.m. at Hendricks Chapel.

Counseling Center

The Counseling Center encompasses services addressing mental health, sexual assault and relationship violence, and substance abuse issues. We are staffed by experienced clinicians and are here to assist students in addressing concerns related to adjusting to college life. We are committed to enhancing the academic mission of the University through providing counseling, as well as prevention, education, and outreach activities. Department of Public Safety

DPS is the campus police force serving the Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity campus and University-controlled properties in Syracuse, New York. The Department employs 60 Public Safety Officers and 15 supporting Community Services Officers who are stationed around campus and patrol the surrounding community. Public Safety Officers are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and the DPS emergency call center is also available around the clock to address our community’s safety and security needs.

Office of Student Assistance

The Office of Student Assistance serves as a central helping resource for all students. The office helps students and their families manage crises, life traumas and other barriers that impede success. The staff works to address the needs of students who struggle in such areas as psychological health, physical health, victimization, relationship issues, and social adjustment through a variety of interventions, referrals and follow up services.
