Nicholson, Williams Named to Leadership Roles in Enrollment and the Student Experience

Senior Vice President for Enrollment and the Student Experience Dolan Evanovich has announced the appointments of Amanda Nicholson as assistant provost and dean for student success and Ryan Williams as senior associate vice president for enrollment. These appointments follow the announcement of the division’s new, comprehensive organizational structure.

Nicholson currently serves as the associate dean for undergraduate programs and professor of retail practice in the . In addition to serving as a faculty member since 1997, Nicholson has received the University’s Meredith Teaching Award; spearheaded the team that created the co-curricular student engagement Goodman IMPRESS program; led the growth of the undergraduate program; and created and maintained the Whitman Leadership Scholars Program, among many other accomplishments. As assistant provost and dean of student success, Nicholson will lead the division’s efforts in student retention, success and graduation. She will work closely with colleagues in the schools, colleges and Academic Affairs to address challenges and opportunities related to students’ persistence, degree completion and post-graduate success.

Working collaboratively with colleagues in Academic Affairs, we know Amanda will bring the leadership and expertise to strengthen the academic and student life partnership and make a great impact on student success.”

Ryan Williams

Williams has served as the interim senior associate vice president for enrollment in the Division of Enrollment and the Student Experience since December. Prior to that, he served as the associate vice president for enrollment management and director of scholarships and student aid since March 2012. Williams brings decades of experience to the role, previously holding enrollment leadership positions at Harvard University, Boston University, University of Rochester and Earlham College. Prior to coming to 鶹ƵUniversity, Williams was the vice president for enrollment programs and services at the College Board. As the senior associate vice president for enrollment, he will oversee the University’s admissions, enrollment and financial aid operations.

“In addition to the vast experience and expertise Ryan brings in all facets of enrollment, he also shares the University’s strong commitment to access, excellence and student success. We are thrilled to have him serve in this permanent capacity as we move the division forward in creating an unsurpassed student experience,” says Evanovich.

Nicholson and Williams begin their appointments effective Oct. 16 and Oct. 2, respectively.
