Institute for Veterans and Military Families and the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs Announce New Director of Communications

The (IVMF) and the Office of Veteran and Military Affairs (OVMA) at 鶹ƵUniversity have announced that Stephanie Salanger will serve as the director of communications for the IVMF as well as OVMA. Salanger is a seasoned professional who will be responsible for heading up communications and marketing efforts for the institute and the office. She brings more than 25 years of national marketing, communications and media relations experience to her new role.

“I’m excited to welcome Stephanie Salanger as our new director of communications,” says Mike Haynie, IVMF founder and 鶹ƵUniversity vice chancellor for strategic initiatives and innovation. “Stephanie will be an integral part of our ongoing commitment to build relationships and communicate our message to our stakeholders, the military and veteran community, and the public. Her wealth of experience is complimented by a keen strategic vision, top-notch communication skills and outstanding leadership qualities. She is going to be a tremendous asset to the IVMF and OVMA as we seek to serve the military and veteran community.”

“I am thrilled to be joining IVMF at such an important time,” says Salanger. “It is an honor to be involved in providing innovative programs, services and quality education to those who have given so much to our country as they transition from the military to civilian life. I am looking forward to helping the dedicated teams at IVMF and OVMA create visibility for advancing the lives of veterans and their families, promoting the entrepreneurial spirit of the programs and touting the unique benefits of a 鶹ƵUniversity education as veterans prepare for the next phase of their lives. The mission at IVMF and OVMA is vital and I’m proud to become a part of the team behind that.”

Salanger has decades of experience developing integrated marketing communications strategies in a wide variety of industries, including the nonprofit community. She most recently managed corporate communications and community philanthropy for Charter Communications. Her philanthropic efforts include the Connect a Million Minds STEM program and a groundbreaking, national AMBER Alert initiative. Salanger is a graduate of SUNY Geneseo.
