For the last 24 hours, Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity has been closely monitoring the winter weather and travel conditions. This effort includes assessing the most up-to-date National Weather Service data and forecasting, and consulting with an independent meteorologist.

Based on current conditions, the University expects to remain fully open and operational on Monday, November 21, 2016.

Although classes are not in session this week, University employees are expected to report to campus. However, and as always, campus community members should be aware and take precautions when severe weather is in the area. If employees encounter weather conditions that could affect their safety when traveling to/from the University, they should use their judgement as it relates to their travel. Faculty and staff concerned about their safety should contact their department head or supervisor respectively.

The University will continue to evaluate weather and road conditions through the evening and into the early morning hours. If a change in the University’s operating status becomes necessary, it will be announced;

• on the University’s campus Twitter account @SUCampus;
• on news.syr.edu and ; and
• via the Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity radio station WAER-FM88, as well as other local media outlets.

Only Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity’s Office of News Services is authorized to transmit to the news media announcements about the University’s operating status.
