Junior communications design majors in the ’ School of Design are presenting “FACE IT: The War on America’s Home Front,” an exhibition on culture, society and citizenship, through Nov. 30 in the first-floor lounge of the Nancy Cantor Warehouse, 350 W. Fayette St., Syracuse.

As part of CMD 351, “Problem Solving Strategies,” the students ventured to confront the social and political problems of our time through the process of design thinking. Eight teams were challenged to create user experiences to foster reflection and reform for eight contentious topics brought to light by this election year: gender inequality, police violence, privacy vs. security, climate change, sexual assault, racism, gun control and immigration. Their solutions include an interconnected exhibition model, posters and digital experiences as a multi-media solution to begin to inform these issues.
