University College has announced three interim appointments.
Karen Bull
Karen Zannini Bull was appointed the interim associate dean of academic affairs and online programs beginning Sept. 1. For the past two and a half years, Bull has served as the manager of online programs for University College.
In December 2015, she earned her doctorate in instructional design, development and evaluation from Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity. Prior to joining SU, she served as the assistant director of distance education and then as the director of program evaluation at Onondaga Community College. She also teaches online at New York Chiropractic College in the Master of Science in Human Anatomy and Physiology Instruction program.
Deb McGraw
Deb McGraw has been named interim director of the English Language Institute (ELI). At the ELI since 1999, she has been an instructor, language coordinator, assistant director and for the past six years, associate director. McGraw earned a master’s degree in German studies at Cornell University, where she taught for 20 years in the Department of Languages and Linguistics, teaching intensive courses, training and supervising TAs, and advising undergraduates.
In the ELI, McGraw has overseen the curriculum and the varied ELI programs that serve undergraduates, graduate students, and professionals. As she studied in Freiburg, Germany, McGraw is aware of the challenges and rewards of being an international student.
Marsha Senior
Marsha Senior will serve as interim director of HEOP and interim assistant director of student administrative services. Senior has worked in higher education for over 30 years. Before joining Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity in 1986, she was employed at Le Moyne College as a counselor with the Upward Bound Program.
Senior began her work at SU as an academic advisor to full-time undergraduate students in the Office of Supportive Services. While there, she provided comprehensive services across two opportunity programs – The Arthur O. Eve Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) and Student Support Services. After 14 years, Senior left SU and joined the staff at Upstate Medical University as an assistant director of Health Careers Opportunity Program. She returned to SU in 2003 and works with adult students at University College.
