Interim Vice Chancellor and Provost Liz Liddy has selected Associate Dean David Van Slyke to chair the search committee for the next dean of the .
David Van Slyke
Van Slyke is the chair of the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs and the Louis A. Bantle Chair in Business and Government Policy. He has been at the Maxwell School since 2004.
“I am very grateful that David has accepted this role of helping to guide the search for the new dean of the Maxwell School,” Liddy says. “The Maxwell School has a tremendous legacy of academic excellence, vital research, distinguished faculty and outstanding students, along with a strong alumni base who are leaders in their fields and deeply involved in public life. The next Maxwell School dean will continue to build on the school’s long history and important contributions, and David will have a critical part in ensuring the school’s continued prominence through the search for its next visionary leader.”
Van Slyke’s research and teaching focuses on government contracting, public-private partnerships, policy implementation, and strategic management in public and nonprofit organizations. He is also a member of the faculty advisory committee looking at the opportunities and challenges associated with creating a small interdisciplinary college of medicine at 鶹ƵUniversity.

A committee is being formed to search for a new dean to succeed Maxwell School Dean James Steinberg. Steinberg will conclude his tenure at the end of the academic year but will continue to teach in the Maxwell School in his role as University Professor of social science, international affairs and law.
Members of the full search committee will be announced in the next few weeks.
