Raise Your Voice This Election Day—Register To Vote Before Deadline

Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity’s Office of Government and Community Relations is doing its part to get out the vote. On Nov. 4, voters across the country will be selecting a total of 471 seats in the U.S. Congress (36 Senate seats, and all 435 House seats); governors in 38 states and territories, including New York State; legislatures in 46 states; numerous state and local positions across the country.

If you want to vote in New York State, you must register by Oct. 10. You will need a New York permanent address. You can change your address, and subsequently register to vote, through . You can also from the New York State Board of Elections. You will then need to send it in via U.S. Mail.

If you are registered in any other state, you can still vote in that state’s election. Each state has its own deadlines. Find out deadlines and how to request an absentee ballot at . You can also find your state’s voter registration forms there.

To vote as a resident of New York State:
• Declare a NYS permanent address and register to vote through .

• Or, download a form through .

• Or, if you are already registered in your New York State hometown, request an absentee ballot at and mail it no later than Oct. 24.

To vote as a resident of a different state:

• Register in your home state, AND request an absentee ballot. You can do either or both at .
