SU Golden Key International Honour Society members donated books to the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

The Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society recently presented books that were collected during its children’s book drive to the Family Resources Center at the SUNY Upstate Golisano Children’s Hospital.

The children’s book drive was conducted as part of the chapter’s New Member Recognition Event, its annual induction ceremony. Those attending the ceremony were asked to bring at least one new children’s book to donate. This is the second year in which the Golisano Children’s Book Drive has been the community service activity associated with this special event.

Mary Laverty, family resources and services coordinator, and Michele Brown, family resources center manager, accepted the books. The Family Resource Center provides books, games and other activity items to the children and family members using the services of the hospital. The Golden Key members were also treated to a tour of the 11th and 12th floors of the hospital.

Additional service activities for this semester will involve projects with the Ronald McDonald House of Central New York, the Ed Smith K-8 School of Â鶹ƵµÀCity Schools District and the Better World Books Drive conducted in collaboration with the SU Bookstore.
