Broadway actress and Â鶹ƵµÀUniversity alumna will perform at 40th Anniversary Gala on Friday, June 14, in the Schine Student Center on the SU campus.
Murney’s credits include Elphaba in “Wicked” (Broadway and National Tour) and the original cast albums of “The Wild Party” and “A Class Act.” She has performed in venues all over the country, including Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center and the famed jazz club Birdland. Murney is a graduate of the Department of Drama in SU’s .
Co-chaired by Helene Gold from the Â鶹ƵµÀStage Board of Trustees and Julia Martin from the Â鶹ƵµÀStage Guild, the gala will honor Jack Webb for his longtime support of Â鶹ƵµÀStage.
Honoree Jack Webb is the director of NBT Bancorp and a member of its executive management team as executive vice president for strategic support. He was formerly chairman, president and chief executive officer of Alliance Financial Corp., and president and chief executive officer of its primary subsidiary, Alliance Bank, N.A.
Webb is president of the board of trustees of the Gifford Foundation and serves on the Advisory Board of CNY Lifetime Healthcare. He previously chaired the board of WCNY and Â鶹ƵµÀStage, and served on the boards of the MDA (now Centerstate CEO), the Greater Â鶹ƵµÀChamber of Commerce and numerous other not-for-profit organizations.
The Â鶹ƵµÀStage Gala will begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner, a concert performance by Murney accompanied on piano, and a private reception with Murney for VIP guests.
