SU NEWS AND EVENTS COVERAGE

鶹ƵUniversity is mentioned in an article about Amazon.com Inc.’s announcement that it will add two features to make the Kindle e-reader more accessible to the visually impaired. Additional media coverage included the Los Angeles Times, (Madison, Wis.), KPTV (Portland, Ore.), WITI (Milwaukee, Wis.) and and web sites.

Research from SU’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse (TRAC) is mentioned in a story about immigration reform.

Kay DeVesty, director of financial aid, and Rebecca Rose, financial aid counselor, commented in a article on SU’s Money Awareness Program for students with large debt burdens. SU students Sierra Rodriguez-Jiminez and Patrick Ebo were also included in the article.

Continuing coverage of the launch of the Green Data Center at the University includes the business and technology websites , , and .

A news conference Monday at the 鶹ƵCoE headquarters announcing Siemens’ pledge of $1.55 million to the CoE and U.S. Rep. Dan Maffei securing $500,000 in U.S. Department of Energy funding for research at the CoE was covered by , , and WSYR-AM. CoE Executive Director Edward Bogucz later in the day discussed the announcements on the “Jim Reith Show” on WSYR-AM. A photo of Bogucz accompanied coverage of the Siemens announcement.

Two companies working with SU, Antek and Intellisyn, are mentioned in a article on the Clean Tech Center incubator.

Leonard Burman, Daniel Patrick Moynihan Professor of Public Affairs in the Maxwell School, is quoted in a article on the federal debt.

Robert Thompson, director of the Bleier Center for Television and Popular Culture in the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, is quoted in a story on Diane Sawyer’s departure from “Good Morning America.”

Boyce Watkins, assistant professor of finance in the Whitman School of Management, authored a commentary for the about public relations strategies for the Tiger Woods brand.

Tom Barkley, assistant professor of finance in the Whitman School, is quoted in a story on the Penn Traffic bankruptcy and compensation paid to the company’s top executives.
