Tickets to see the New York Mets, Boston Celtics and New York Giants are among more than 275 auction items available at the SU Sport Management Club’s Fifth Annual Charity Sports Auction. The event will take place Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Carrier Dome’s backcourt during the SU men’s basketball game against the University of Maine. Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York and the SPM Club.

Other sports-related memorabilia available include autographed items from Carmelo Anthony, Donovan McNabb and Gilbert Arenas. Non-sports-related items available include an overnight stay on Captiva Island, Fla., and overnight accommodations at several local hotels, gift certificates to many Syracuse-area restaurants and other items perfect for holiday gifts, including an 8 GB iPod Touch, Kodak Easy Share Digital Camera, Nintendo Wii and Aquos LCD 40” TV.

The Fifth Annual Charity Sports Auction is being held in conjunction with a 鶹ƵUniversity men’s basketball game for the first time. Ticket holders for the game can gain entrance through Gates A, B, C & E starting at 5 p.m., with all other gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Bidding will begin when doors open at 5 p.m. and continue until the start of the game. Fans will have the opportunity to place their final bids during halftime before the auction closes, precisely at the start of the second half of the game.

Admission to the Charity Sports Auction is included with the purchase of a game ticket for the 鶹Ƶmen’s basketball game, which can be purchased on the SU Athletics’ website () or at the Carrier Dome Box Office. Tickets can also be ordered by phone at 1-800-DOMETIX.

The SU Sport Management Club is a student-run organization in the David B. Falk Center for Sport Management in the College of Human Ecology. Since its founding in 2005, the club has grown to nearly 100 members and has raised more than $75,000 for local charities. The club has received numerous awards and recognition for its service to the community and philanthropic work, including one of the inaugural Orange Circle Awards, presented by the 鶹ƵUniversity Alumni Association.
