Community Ambassadors serve as role models for the other student-residents of the streets they are living on.
The Office of Off-Campus and Commuter Services (OCCS), within the Division of Student Affairs, is seeking student applicants for the 2015-2016 Community Ambassador (CA) program. Students can apply online on the Off-Campus and Commuter Services website. Students must submit their applications by March 23.
This program matches successful off-campus students with selected blocks in the University neighborhood. Selected students will serve as ambassadors and role models to the residents of the street they are living on. CAs provide a point of contact for student-residents on their assigned block, provide access to resources and build community in order to ease the transition to off-campus living. CAs must work well in a team, be responsible, possess strong communication skills and be enthusiastic about supporting their community.
“Being a CA gives me the opportunity to have a positive, creative influence on my community,” says Amanda Canavatchel, senior biology and psychology major. “It’s been a great experience!”
