Lyndy McLaughlin joins IVMF as assistant director of communications for digital media and marketing

mclaughlinLyndy McLaughlin has been appointed assistant director of communications for digital media and marketing at the at 鶹ƵUniversity (IVMF). McLaughlin will lead the institute’s strategic digital media and marketing initiatives, including social media and user experiences in web and mobile environments, using a combination of design, technical and communication skills.

As a member of the institute’s communications team, McLaughlin will produce strategic new media marketing components, including infographics, digital publications and interactive online experiences. In addition, she will be responsible for all digital and social media marketing and implementation, manage the student social media team, evaluate new media analytics and marketing return, and manage the IVMF video archive and other new media services. She will also enhance the IVMF’s instructional offerings by collaborating with subject matter experts to create interactive, media-rich learning experiences.

“Lyndy has done outstanding work for the institute in the past, having designed several of our veteran and military family entrepreneurship program websites and assisting this summer with the redesign of the IVMF site. We are very excited to have her on our team and look forward to the new marketing and communications possibilities that her presence will open for us,” says Dan Savage, IVMF chief of staff.

McLaughlin joined SU in 2008 as new media analyst in the technology services department of the Martin J. Whitman School of Management, where she was responsible for overseeing and executing the entire life cycle of digital media projects from concept generation to delivery. She most recently served as assistant director of marketing at Whitman, where she was responsible for leading the creative design, evaluation, development and implementation of strategic marketing campaigns; including web design, print collateral, HTML email marketing campaigns, digital signage and high-end video production supporting the marketing and communications functions of the Whitman School.

Prior to working at SU, McLaughlin worked at Integrated Marketing Services, a Syracuse-based advertising agency, and within the marketing/communications department at Welch Allyn. She holds a bachelor’s degree in graphic design from the State University of New York at Oswego and is currently pursuing an M.S. in new media management through the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications and the Whitman School at SU.
