Christine Himes, professor of sociology int he Maxwell School and director of the Center for Policy Research, has been appointed to the Board of Scientific Counselors of the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics.
The appointment to the four-year term is made by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. The board is tasked with providing advice and guidance on statistical and epidemiological research and activities that focus on a range of health issues, including life expectancy, illness and injury, chronic disease and impairment, infant and maternal morbidity and mortality, nutrition, environmental and other hazards, resources, cost trends, and data security and collection.
