“I first went whitewater rafting my freshman year as part of the Outdoor Pursuits Learning Community. At first, I didn’t know what to expect, but when we got to the Black River, the guides from Adirondack River Outfitters taught us everything we needed to know in a matter of minutes” says Christina Vosnak ’19. “Since my freshman year, I’ve been whitewater rafting two more times and I hope to go a few more with SU Rec Services before I graduate. The experience is unique and unforgettable and I’m so happy that 鶹Ƶoffers trips like these for students to enjoy!”

Daniel B. McMurray ’20 says “Whitewater rafting through the SU recreation department has allowed many students, myself included, to explore a new environment and take healthy, safe risks allowing for personal growth. Through sharing the unique experience of rafting with friends and people I had never met until the trip, I was able to both make new friends and grow closer with old friends. Every time I go down the Black River, I’m in for a new, unique opportunity and I truly enjoy it every time.”
